Step 1 - Create a list in MS Word of 3 different Software Applications that you have experience using. This list should include the name of the Application and what it does (eg- MS Word: Its allows the creation and manipulation of documents)
Step 2 - Once your list is finished copy it into the related Edmodo topic on your class Edmodo.
    Activity 2: Processing and Data.
Each piece of software at its core is a set of instructions; these instructions in turn produce a result. MS Word in turn is a set of instructions that the computer carries out in such a way that it allows you to create and manipulate documents. The computer undertaking these instructions is what we call 'processing' while the result of these instructions generally manipulates of creates some form of 'data' (in the case of MS Word the data that is generally produced or changed is a Word Document).
Step 1 - Using the list that has now been created on Edmodo by both you and your class mates choose 2 Software applications that have been posted (do not choose Software Applications you listed).
Step 2 - Name these Software Applications in your MS Word document and then proceed to write down a process the Software Application preforms and a piece of data it interacts with.
    eg:
    Software Application: MS Word.
Process: Copy and pasting several lines in a document / Moving an image within a document / adding letters based on keystrokes of the user
Data: Individual letters in a document / The document itself / an Image in a document
Activity 3: Formative task 3, Software (available on Edmodo).
