What is Hardware?
  • The physical parts and/or components of a computer / computer system.
  • Hardware consists of any machinery that helps in the input, processing, storage, and output activities of an information system.

Hardware can be combined with more hardware to create hardware!
eg: When a motherboard, RAM, HDD, and a processor (all individual pieces of hardware) are combined in one system you create a basic computer!

Activity 1: What do you know about Hardware?
Consider the following question:
What kind of devices do you use in your day to day life that can be considered computer hardware?

"One example of a piece of hardware we use throughout our day to day lives would be a self serve checkout."
Can you think of more?
Step 2 - Create a list in MS Word of 10 different devices that you think should be considered hardware, also note down if the listed devices are input or output devices
Step 3 - Save the list to your flash drive; you will need it later.
